Summary: Transits and epistemological strategies in art in the Amazons is the line of research that links this dissertation. Has as object of study the paintings of landscapes of Pinto Guimarães , developed during the second half of the 20th century. Lists the stylistic characteristics of the Impressionist paintings produced in France in the second half of the 19th century. Aims to examine the paintings by the artist paraense, Pinto Guimarães in procedural aspects of implementation, as well as thematic choice of the scenarios and the landscaped grounds, as well as the Visuality of pictorial technique. The methodology is apport biographical documentary and theoretical. Examines paintings produced by the artist in the period from 1963 to 1997 from original works and reading of important works, but not found in Collections. Brings together authors of art history dealing with the fundamentals of French Impressionist school, among which include Argan (1992), Balzi (2009), Chandra (1981), Gompertz (2013), Lobstein (2010), Mason (2009), Newall (2011), Serullaz (1989) and Hauser (1998). Clarified visual legacy that the paintings of landscapes brought to the contemporaneity of the pictorial art in Bethlehem, as stylistic influences which they were subjected during the period in which they were held. It follows that the study points to the objective marks of existence of Impressionism in the work of the artist and features linked to modernity, but also reveals the true motivations that led the author to the development of his paintings of landscapes.
